When things get real.

For my April Edit, I want to point you to four minutes of a stunningly real interview with Daphne Javitch talking about the moment with her physician when she dialed in to an internal voice that told her she needed to explore another path toward healing.

[Or, here to listen directly from the web.]

She shares with candor about what it means to speak up—especially when you feel vulnerable in the face of authority. [The whole interview is great for a long walk—the specific moment in question comes at 3:51-8:20.]

This interview is for anyone who’s “toned” the courage to speak up at an unlikely moment, or for anyone looking for inspiration to do so.

I want to encourage you to click over to her About Page on her own site Doing Well], with a compelling and real voice of its own.

Also check out Daphne’s instagram—it connects her professional past and present, and nary a green smoothie or sunrise in sight. And this difference is worth mentioning. A health website or instagram account does not need to follow some “industry” standard. You’re way better off going your own way—and avoiding a me-too approach.

Take a few minutes and explore the evocative relationship of words and pictures. She talks about molecular mimicry and cellular health, but paired with vintage images from 1980s and 90s magazines, in a way that’s memorable and draws you in.
